Walk more.

From hiking trails to just go into the local park, putting 1 foot in front of the other is the healthiest, cheapest and easiest way to exercise if you have the mobility to do so. It looks at your heart rate and helps you to work up a sweat, and it really doesn't require you to have any extra training. All you need is a good pair of walking shoes, determination and a backpack. Make sure that you hydrate well, but walking for at least half an hour per day can really help to start hiking. It is a great way to do it as well because it doesn't feel much like exercise, but exploring places with friends.

Utilize YouTube.

There are plenty of free options for exercise that you can do at home by using YouTube. You can workout in your living room and you can literally pick any workout you'd like to do, from body work, two yoga. There are so many videos out there that you can use to guide you through movement and all you need is something comfortable to sit on.

Take up a martial art.

You can go to a class rather than a gym and that will really help if you want to get fit. Martial arts can help you to improve your physical and mental fitness, and it's a cardio and full body workout that will help you determine your muscles. The benefit of that of course is you will also build your self defense skills and confidence at the same time.

Join a local sports team.

If you are interested in a particular sport, joining a local sports team and getting to know others who also enjoy a particular sport will really help you to build your confidence, your social life and help you to get fit. When you are playing sports with others, it really does feel like less of something you are doing for your workout self and more something you're doing for your mental health.

Go cycling.

If you're looking for a low impact exercise that only requires you to invest in a good helmet and a bike, then cycling is the option you should use. There are so many cycle trails in parks and on the street these days that you'll always be able to find somewhere you can utilize your cycling skills. If you don't have a bike of your own, you could even rent one from a local park and still be able to go and cycle in circles if you want.
